Sony Ericsson just recently announced that the Xperia PLAY will be arriving at AT&T stores across the country this month allowing even more people to have access to the only PlayStation certified smartphone on the market.
This announcement falls right in line with the seemingly strong momentum that the Xperia PLAY has been experiencing since it launched earlier on in the year. This device is now available through major carriers around the globe including Verizon, America Movil, Telefonica Movistar, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Orange and now AT&T.
The Xperia PLAY offers a plethora of games that will suit the need of any gamer. Among the 150 titles available to download are titles like Minecraft Pocket Edition, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and even DeadSpace 2. But if that isn't enough for you, the Xperia PLAY also offers users a host of unique social experiences including Sony Ericsson Facebook inside Xperia, which allows you to share and discover games.
According to Global Head of Marketing at Sony Ericsson Steve Walker, "Xperia PLAY is the only true gaming smartphone and Sony Ericsson is creating a new and unique market category. Games are the most popular content for smartphones and Xperia PLAY users are at the forefront in downloading content. This presents a major opportunity for operators."
The Xperia PLAY is marketed by AT&T as the Xperia PLAY 4G supporting HSPA+ and is also offered in a "stealth blue" color. This device will be available as a smartphone package complete with accessories including the Sony Ericsson Multimedia Dock DK300 and MC100 music cable. In addition to that, the device will also come pre-loaded with seven games, some of which are completely exclusive.
You can pick up your very own Xperia PLAY smartphone by Sony Ericsson from any AT&T retail store or online on September 18th, 2011 for $49.99 with a new two-year agreement.
